Dragonfly

Finally got to get one to keep still for a few seconds! These are common enough round here, the common whitetail, Plathemis lydia. This is a female. The males have a white or bluish body and the black patches on the wings have a different pattern.

We have had a sunny day and we are beginning to dry out but further south it is just dreadful. Many people are missing and searches still ongoing. Still more rain is expected in Houston and other places.
