The stupidity of youth

Today I had the news I suspected... that a little red patch I've been monitoring for 3 months is a basal cell carcinoma (aka skin cancer, albeit in its mildest form)
It's been 2 years now since I was given the all clear & discharged from the specialist, the scar from the last surgery is also visible in this photo.
The stupidity of youth refers to my former obsession with sunbeds & tanning in general, despite being aware of the risks and the fact I'm skin type 1.
The initial diagnosis was a huge wake up call & thankfully now I have far more sense to stay out of the sun & ALWAYS use sunscreen. It also made me aware of changes on my skin so luckily this one can be excised without much fuss.
