Keep Clear

Damp and cool are ideal conditions for the Edinburgh Marathon being run today along the coast from Portobello to Longniddry, although the increasingly strong wind might be a problem on the return leg.

Damp and cool ( verging on Baltic) with an increasing wind are not ideal conditions for a walk on this last day of May for our Sunday breakfast at the canal side café; hats and anoraks on and the chill still managed to play around the neck area.

As if to celebrate what may yet become summer, the June fair has arrived overnight in the Meadows, although when we passed there didn't seem to be much activity in assembling the whole razzmatazz . I imagine the fairground folk are hunkered down hoping the weather gets a bit more clement during the day.

I think this image is hardly needed as a deterrent to people, given the dilapidated state of the doorway itself.
