Angletarn Pikes and Place Fell

It started damp and cool and my extra photo is the tree near the campsite I blipped on Friday and Saturday. A different shot again. The orienteering was good, but I had brain fade and didn't go to control 12 and made a mess of the leg to 13, so a good run turned into a disaster. Afterwards the weather improved and we went up the Marilyn of Hallin Fell on the east side of Ullswater. This is the view of Place Fell and Angletarn Pikes, (on the left), from near the summit, looking along Boredale. The Lake District is really lovely, but too heavily 'manicured'for real wildness. There is nothing like it in Scotland.
