Kadjar

Another day of travel, this time to Zaragoza in Spain. This is where we have come to be acquainted with the new Renault Kadjar, a so-called 'crossover' car that is a big brother for the already popular Renault Captur.

We spent this afternoon driving in the Bardenas area, south of Pamplona and on the edge of the Rioja wine region. The route included a privileged trip through a spectacular disused architectural park that is normally a pedestrians-only zone. This fabulous piece of sculpture made an irresistible blip.

Our hotel tonight is the Aire de Bardenas in a wild and arid national park, where we were given a choice between two types of rooms: either a normal boxy hotel room, or an inflated 'Bubble Room', with pretty civilised mod cons including a big comfy bed and shower, but a transparent dome roof with a panoramic view of the night sky overhead. Needless to say I chose the latter. It seemed a one-off experience not to be missed, and the chance to sample something very different.

The long row of stark white Bubble Rooms may have to be tomorrow's blip ...
