The Backyard BlueJay

....is wet and hungry and perfect for a blip on this rainy, cool day.  

I have been struggling to get a good shot of one of these beauties.  They disappear as soon as I go outside and from indoors, I just haven't been fast enough.  The light is so poor today that I finally put aside the telephoto lens and set the peanuts right outside the kitchen window.  I used the low light lens just inside on the kitchen counter on a tripod.   The most frequent visitor was, of course, the squirrel. (see extra shot)  I only hoped the peanuts would last long enough to attract the Blue Jays.
