The Royal Yacht Squadron (RYS) - one of the most snob prestigious yacht clubs in the world with its clubhouse at Cowes Castle is commemorating its bicentenary this year. And this Friday 5th June the Duke of Edinburgh, as Admiral of the RYS will be conducting a Review of the yachts belonging to members of the RYS. The Duke will be joined by other members of the British Royal Family and overseas Royal guests.

Part of the celebrations during the week have  been yacht races including some classic vintage craft.This is the 19mtr. Mariquita built in 1910 and widely acclaimed as one of the most beautiful sailing boats afloat. She certainly was a magnificent sight as she crossed the finish line under full sail.
