Summer on its way.

Weather forecasters say we are heading for a heatwave this week so this afternoon hitched up the solar heating "system" to get the pool warmed up.

Normally we would have started a few weeks ago but the weather has simply been much too variable to make it worthwhile. Our "system" is simply a roof covered in 1/2 inch black ribbed pipes through which the normal swimming pool filter pumps the water through. So theoretically it costs nothing but of course we have it running longer than if it was just filtering. (With a PV unit it would cost nothing except the VAT!)

So tomorrow it kicks off at 17°C. See how quickly it can get to the magical 29.9°C I need before I will go in.
