Louise - Changing Natures

Green (with no apologies)

Attended the 2020 Climate Group Summit in Stirling today, marking World Environment Day. The event looked at the progress Scotland has made around tackling climate change, and outlined the challenges ahead.

The standout presentation was from Elizabeth Dirth of the 2050 Young Leaders Climate Group. In a brilliant, thoughtful and inspiring speech she asked those "older" people in the audience to stop apologising: "Stop saying sorry for the situation you have caused. We do not need your apologies. We need you to help us act NOW to change things. We need you to stand with us."

It was utterly electrifying - no wonder there was a queue of people waiting to talk to her at the end. I've supported the group to get set up and I'm so proud of what they have achieved so far - but even more energised by what they are about to do next.

This pic is of a WW1 Commemoration produced by schoolchildren outside the Pathfoot Building at Stirling Uni. I loved how they had placed the handmade upcycled poppies in the landscape - really powerful.
