Accrington Food Festival

Our plan for today was originally to do a Hawk Walk; something we'd had booked since February.

They cancelled our first date back in March due to bad weather (fair enough), so we thought we were set for today as the forecast was favourable.

However, they sent me a message on Thursday to cancel again, saying there was a safety issue due to the number of people and dogs in the park. What????!!!!! Why didn't they think about this before?
They offered to honour the booking at a later date, once they've found an alternative location, but I asked for a refund instead.

This was booked through Groupon, and rather naughtily (I feel) they redeemed our voucher a couple of days after we made the initial booking in February. Due to this, and the fact the voucher has now expired, Groupon can't refund my money; they can only credit my account to use on something else within the next year.

We are really not impressed, especially given that the vendor 'Cuerden Valley Birds of Prey' are still offering the Groupon deal (they've sold over 100 vouchers so far) despite not having anywhere to do the walk.

Our alternative plan of action was to walk into town for the food & drink festival; I've never seen the town centre so busy!
Today's blip is of Broadway.

There were quite a few food stalls £7 for a bit of scran in a tray, no thanks! and the main attractions were celebrity chef Richard Fox (?) and Jesse McClure of 'Storage Hunters' (????). Never heard of either of them!

At least it was something to do on a blustery afternoon.
