A Man With A Mission To Feed The Homeless.

On my way out today I saw there was 'an event 'in the making over from the flat , next to the Rochdale Canal . This group of volunteers agreed to be photographed before they set off around the city inviting 'homeless' to a roast Sunday lunch .The man dressed in black, 3rd from  left had the idea last winter. Feeling the cold as he travelled between stations he became aware of the street people. He began a project providing breakfast twice a week . Friends donated and the project grew via Facebook . This Sunday was the 1st roast lunch .The food was all being transported and you can see how arrangements were being set up . Serving tents , tables and chairs and rugs to relax on . Mr Whittaker is an impressive man . He has a project in the pipeline for July . A bus will take those who wish to Levenshulme. There they can have a free haircut , etc. I admire his and his volunteers enthusiam and energy.The breakfasts remain a standard feature .If you use Facebook look up Mad Dogs Street Project -
