Kiloran Beach redux

A magnificent day in the sunshine. We repeated the cycle trip to Kiloran Bay, but this time took the bikes a little further along the farm track towards Balnahard Farm before walking up Carnan Eoin, which is the highest point on Colonsay (and a McPhie and a trig point (see extra photo) to boot). Mr A didn't make it quite to the top as the path was a bit exposed. Understandably, the views (360 degrees) were wonderful. Here we are looking back towards the bay, and the machair across which we cycled.

Later on we went sunset hunting. It was ok, but not wonderful. But as we arrived at the raised beaches of Rubh Aird Alanais, the light was wonderful - as one of the extra photos shows.

The other extra photo, taken with fat lens from the cottage, shows Mr Calmac in town, along with a rather fine vintage two masted yacht.
