The Lonely Puffin

So we got away just before 3pm - pretty flat calm, and warm enough to get the shorts on, but down past Inchkeith we caught a breeze coming in from the South-East, so we had a fine sail down to Fife Ness. As we turned North the wind dropped so it looks like we're going to have a long night motoring. Actually, it's not a long night at all as the sun didn't set till 10pm and it'll be rising at 4:15am. Still, as we're playing at earnest salty dogs, we're doing 2 on, 4 off, till morning. I wish we had a bell to ring between watches. And proper hammocks. And weevils in the bread.
Right, time to turn in for a brief shut-eye. I'm on at midnight and there are more lobster creels out here than you'd imagine. Bloody affluence; everyone wants lobster.
