Postcard from New Brighton

It wasn't as warm as expected until late in the day when the sun showed its face, as it was setting. John wanted to go over New Brighton way and have a walk around as he was picking something up in the area.

It was lovely walking on the beach.. not too cold but could have been warmer. The seagulls were having so much fun finding Pipis and picking them up and flying high into the sky, then dropping them. It would take about four attempts until they broke open for them to eat. You did have to watch were you were walking.. wouldn't want to get hit by one!

Remember my blip on Sunday of the Postcard from Christchurch... I said about the Christchurch Town hall being in limbo. There was a article in the newspaper on Monday saying they were going to start the repairs next month. This is the article. I forgot to tell you about it yesterday. Then today there was another article saying it shouldn't be repaired as it was a waste of money. So who know what will happen!

Here is the latest fly over the Red Zone by the Drone where once 1000s of house stood. The Red Zone is area where the land was so badly damaged by the earthquakes all the houses had to be pulled down or removed as the land can not be built on again. Here is article that may help you understand it more. I have added this as many people have asked my this question.
