Bye bye Kalimantan

Last night we booked a last minute flight to Surabaya as we decided we'd done all we wanted to do here so we're heading to Java today. The flight isn't until the afternoon so we spend a chilled morning having breakfast and mooching around the local market.

The flight is fine except Fred is sat beside a rather grim man who is picking his nose and wiping on the armrest between their seats! He also shouts at the airhostess and is generally quite grim but at least its a short flight.

On arrival in Surabaya we are definitely back to civilization. We take two buses and a cyclo and finally arrive at our homestay just before dark. The bus station is the usual pushy affair with everyone trying to get you on their bus but its fine.

We head out for a local dinner then to the shopping mall round the corner where we've heard there is beer. Its been over a week since we've even been anywhere where we've seen beer! Its packed and there is a (not very good) breakdancing dance-off going on but we find a beer and a shisha. Although the atmosphere is hardly relaxing we thoroughly enjoy it.
