In the absence of any other photos today ...

The morning is spent on the internet doing research as to where we're gong next. We want to go and see the volcanos, Bromo and Ijen and have decided to book with our guest house as loads of people are coming back saying its really good value and many people are ripped off. The thing we need to decide to is where afterwards as we don't really want to come back to Surabaya although if we want to go to Yogyakarta, we may have to. Eventually we decide we'll head straight from Ijen to Bali where we can renew our visas easily and hopefully see some of the culturual things we wanted to do in Ubud. The ferry port is close to Ijen so it makes sense.

That decided. we book our trip and head out shopping ... Andy needs some long trousers if we're going to do these volcano trips. We go to a Nike outlet store first (as Nike is made here) which is quite a walk away but no joy, they only have shorts so we head to the huge Tunjungan Plaza on the bus. After much wandering and trying a few things on, Andy settles on a cheap pair of trackie bottoms which will do the job. We hop on the bus back and its rush hours so its a very long and slow journey.

On arrival back at the homestay, two of the other guests are heading out for pizza and the owner is giving them a lift. We are asked to join them and, as we're hungry, we go, Pizza and beer two nights running won't hurt after eating rice for every other meal for the last two weeks!
