Wide Angle Turbine

It's BIG!  And qualifies for Hobbs's widwed challenge of Modern as it's a modern version of a more ancient form of power.

I have tried to show here the movement of the Wind Turbine. It only has three blades as is normal so I took several images and stacked them, trying to add a bit of motion blur.  Mixed success!  The turbine is huge - 100 metres tall - and, whilst it isn't in a particularly beautiful area, it does have an impact on the views for a very long way around.  It certainly stands out!

Whilst I was there, some sound tests were being done on it so the blades were running quite fast.  Very close to, there was barely any sound whilst a little further away it was quite loud.  100 metres from it there was no sound at all.  I know a lot of people objected to it suddenly appearing on our horizon, especially those who look directly towards it from their houses, and maybe several turbines together would have actually been more aesthetically pleasing.

News on Henry is good today. He has eaten and drunk a little and his temperature is back to normal.  The vet is keeping him for another day to check that his progress continues.  It does seem as if it's going to be a mystery as to the cause - possibly just a strong allergic reaction to something he has eaten.  The vet has pretty much ruled out anything drastic mainly due to the speed with which it took him over.  Henry should be home tomorrow, all being well and progress continuing.

I'm off later to see a live screening of La Boheme in our local theatre from the ROH.  Good stuff!
