Adamant, Determined

Another lovely relaxing day.  Aliscotia, Longshadow and I all went for fantastic, long massages this afternoon and came away exceedingly floppy.

When we got back, we headed outside to experiment with some more outdoor, pool shots.  I happened to look down at one point and noticed what I thought was a tiny injured moth struggling to make its way across the patio.  On looking closer, I realized it was actually a tiny dead moth being hauled across the patio by a minute ant, at an amazing speed.   To give you some perspective, the moth was about 7 mm (1/3 inch) across.  With unrelenting determination, the ant dragged, pushed and carried the moth about 25 feet in 10 minutes.  What we didn’t understand was that when he got it that far, he just suddenly dropped it and ran off.  Maybe he just wanted to prove he could do it!

Writing this just brought this song back to me, so for those of you whose era was the 80s…

"Don't tread on an ant, he's done nothing to you"
Clearly Adam Ant had never come across fire ants!!!
