An Avid Lensman

That Pesky Moon (Again)

Very rare to get the opportunity to be on this bank of the Avon, as it sweeps round, under the nose (or Spire) of Salisbury Cathedral.

LARGE

Started off with normal-ish wide angle, then went wider and then went fisheye. Tripod in fact right on the edge of a very uneven (and dark) bank, where either my foot, or a tripod foot, would disappear down some hole,  or something. 30 seconds exposure.

Realising after that, with start of the sunrise on the extreme left, that this would require - and deserve - some serious editing, including eradicating most of the extreme barrel distortion of the fisheye, without necessarily losing all that essential left to right angle of view. So, good half an hour spent on it. But as it was f r e e z I n g  out there and the effort put in, well worth it. (Well, I think so - and it is my picture, after all!)

Huge thanks for the everything on yesterday's too - cheers.
