Beautiful Demoiselle

On the journey from Chinon to the Dordogne we drove across an area called La Brenne where five years ago we spent a week. The idea was to revisit a location where the wonderful butterfly The Purple Emperor come down from its habitat in the tops of Oak trees to drink in shallow pools. On that occasion we took photos of those wonderful creatures.

Today, alas they were elusive. But Knottman did manage this shot of a Beautiful Demoiselle.
