Centuri

When choosing a destination for the next motorhome stop it's always best to keep one's expectations under control as sometimes the best sounding places on paper can be disappointing.

The converse is also true as was proved today.  Centuri at the most Northerly point of Cap Corse sounded interesting but there didn't seem to be much information about it.  Also,  there were no campsites listed in any of the camping guides we have.  That didn't sound too promising but I found a campsite on the internet but kept telling Jane not to expect too much as we drove here.

Imagine our delight to find this gem.  It's a beauty of a fishing port,  not unlike Cadgwith in Corwall,  with no super yachts but lots of excellent seafood restaurants.   In addition,  the unlisted campsite is excellent and only a short walk from Centuri.

I would recommend this to anyone planning a motorhome trip to Corsica.

We walked into the village to have a meal this evening and hoped to catch a nice sunset.  The light was lovely but the sun disappeared behind a bank of cloud at the crucial moment.  This shot was taken from our restaurant (where we had a superb seafood meal) looking back towards the harbour in the evening light.

It's blowing a gale here at present.  Apparently the weather across the water in mainland France is not good which is a shame as we are leaving here on Monday.

I've uploaded an extra picture of the town of Corte where we stayed last night.  An interesting place but a bit hilly as you can see!
