Coleham Pumping Station.

My son and went to Shrewsbury today. First we visited Coleham Pumping Station, an original pumping station built in 1900 that has two working beam engines and boilers as well as lots more items of interest such as stationary engines and models. There is an extra photo of one of the volunteers making bacon baps for the others in the furnace!

We then went to the Military Museum (he's very interested in all kinds of history). It's housed in Shrewsbury Castle and has a huge amount of  exhibits including a lock of Napoleon's hair! .

We looked round the grounds and I took a shot of him on the steps of Laura's Tower which gives a great view over the town.

A spot of lunch then I waved him off on the train.
