Round the Horn

Another day on the floating library. And much more tossing about than the day before - we'd picked up the tide as we headed to Cape Wrath (above) and as you all know, wind against tide can make for a very lumpy sea. Very.
And a bit of a lengthy journey - 73 nautical miles, which is 84 of your landlubbery miles. A good twelve hours of buffeting. Of course, the first decision on landing in the metropolis of Stornoway was a huge one - beers or food? The Cap'n was for carry out food (a Chinese), the First Mate for a meal at a pub. The casting vote was mine. Did I hear pub? Unfortunately, as soon as the Mate had guzzled his grub (and I mean guzzled - he's from Gorebridge) he wasn't for a second pint!
So here we are, holed up in Stornoway - 415 miles since we started on Monday. The mate is jumping ship tomorrow and the Cap'n is burnt out and needs a rest. I wonder if there are any Stornoway blippers out there?
