Stinkers

Bit of an EB today - ran out of time then it began to rain very lightly so I snapped and ran!

Lilium pyrenaicum is native to Europe and the Caucasus - we have quite a bit of it here. It has a rather pungent foxy odour, as do some Fritillaria species, and years ago a fairly posh lady told me that as  a child she knew it as 'stinkers'! Quite appropriate! It's said to have naturalised in various parts of Britain, though I've not seen it outside gardens.
