Backblipping again, I seem to have got into a permanent 24-hour slippage. To the garden for a barbecue again this evening. There were clouds of butterflies milling around, but I fancied a change and spotted this rather magnificent dragonfly on a pebble. I don't recall seeing one like this before; I have just spent a few minutes googling and can't decide whether it's a golden-ringed dragonfly or something else. I was quite impressed by the sharpness of the photo I took with the little camera (no macro lens, just the 150 mm one at full stretch). The extra is a well-camouflaged butterfly that I rather liked. It's a gatekeeper, very common around here; you can see both sides of its wings here.
