Victoria

I spent most of the day working on the pond and surrounding area. The rockery is not finished and the paving slabs are not yet completely level, but work is progressing well.

Late in the afternoon we visited our granddaughter Victoria, as it is her birthday. She is having a small present this year and money for driving lessons.

Victoria had decided that she did not want her cards and presents in the morning, but wanted them in the afternoon. We were privileged that she wanted us to be there too. Unfortunately her Daddy had written in his diary to ‘keep Friday free for Victoria’, not her birthday! He had a previous engagement, which could not be cancelled, but was home in the evening.

Today’s picture is of her opening cards and presents although her presents from her boyfriend were opened later in the evening. As is usual in this family, the celebrations will continue on Sunday when we all have lunch out, followed by birthday cake. My extra picture today is of Oliver, trying on his unbirthday present from his parents; we bought him a PS4 game. When your birthday is six days before Christmas you have to have an unbirthday; how long that will continue remains to be seen.

I forgot to take my proper camera, so this was taken with my iPhone and is not as sharp as it should be.
