Maurice Ravel and Lyons la Foret

This morning we headed towards Les Andelys and the Chateau Gaillard, built by Richard 1st (probably not with his very hands) and I took control of the route. I prefer the little back roads and as we wanted to enjoy our trip north, we made our way to Lyons la Foret where we stopped for lunch. What a treat of a little Normandy town and one we haven't passed through before. So many old buildings which I haven't done justice to at all, regrettably. The main bar/restaurant was doing brisk business and we were lucky to get a table in the square and find they were serving a range of food to suit all.

This beautiful old building was the home of Maurice Ravel for a time, so decided it was worthy of today's offering. We are now in Montreuil sur Mer for our last night on French soil before heading for the Chunnel tomorrow.

For those of you following the saga of Madame Le Satnav, she's been sacked until JJ can train her into submission. She definitely has an attitude problem.
