A Day Worth Recording

Fudged

We've been in need of a pair of bedside units for a while.  We've been scanning eBay and the charity shops but eventually had to resort to the "antique" shops.  Eventually relented on a price for a pair of ostensibly suitable, but intrinsically MDF, units

I always feel I've been 'done' when I buy something from these guys.

Even more so when later inspection (well, dismantling) reveals mismatched components and layers of dribbled varnish that I literally use a chisel to remove.

After some strategic sanding and varnishing they're beginning to look acceptable for a dark corner.

Which is more than can be said for the emergency blip taken of them.

In contrast, we found a gorgeous, carved, proper-wood dining table in the YMCA for a third of the price of the MDF blocks.  (Not exactly helping the feeling of dealer done-ness).

We don't actually need another table but bought it anyway it was so nice.

That might get blipped when it's delivered next week.
