the view from Cairngorm mountain

We woke to sunshine, and mountains revealing themselves through shifting cloud, snow patches and all.
We went half way up the mountain to the Reindeer Centre and took a guided walk out across spectacular country to meet free-ranging, and tame, reindeer. My sister loved handfeeding them.
Then we drove up further to the mountain railway and took the train to the top. I have run out of superlatives to describe what we saw - suffice to say we were high up, beyond the snowline and could see a very very long way.
Extra pics -1 Cairngorm reindeer
2. - A rushing and noisy river in the gorge we passed though on the walk to the reindeer.
3 - Ben Nevis in the far distance.

Later we took a leisurely drive to Inverness to our next B&B. All the way I was struck by the trees, the extent of the forests, the size of individual trees, natural pine forest, and beech and rowan and lower down rolling hills of oak .
