Little

After sad news last night that my old school friend's mum had passed away, I recalled a number of childhood memories of her that gave me a good smile in between sadness.

This morning I knew I needed air. A camera in nature has the most amazing ability to refresh and refocus the mind. I had a whole range of lovely encounters from little owls to a family of little wrens that I sat and watched for half an hour or so. But, one of the simplest, loveliest things was just sitting, almost shoulder deep in grasses, in the middle of my field being surrounded by swooping house martins and swallows.

We've now driven south to Rich's parents for the weekend and have just shared a very pleasant evening with them.
