The longest day

Well, the sun came out and the villagers of Wellow in Hampshire made the most of the longest day celebration of  the 800th anniversary of the village church of St Margarets.
Certainly, these youngsters were spell bound by the falconry display with a number of different birds — owls, hawks and a falcon.   Just look at the wingspan of this bird of prey coming in to pick up a titbit.
But while the birds were a popular part of the entertainment. An assortment of stalls, archery, an assault course, Morris Dancing created a following . . .Oh yes, and if you were hungry, freshly cooked burgers.

It all followed a mini-marathon, a fun run of six kilometres around the village.
