Sorry Megan, but I couldn't resist drawing the comparison to Gollum, I'll make up for it when I come visit in August.

No ill effects after the London to Brighton bike ride. Well, not quite true - my face is rather burned which is not a good look. Small price to pay though for a great day. Only negative was the journey home which took over 4 hours. Should have taken 2. I could almost have ridden home in the same time. 

I have a strong feeling that we will be doing it again next year, unless I can persuade Mike to do London to Paris with me.
