On a wing and a prayer

When I was photographing this web I thought that was a tiny leaf trapped in it.  It turns out to be a wing.  Some poor critter escaped - but is flying pretty lopsided right now.

We had pretty hefty ice this morning, but because it was solid ice rather than frost it didn't make for very exciting crystal photography.  I found yet another grass-spider web instead .

You can get an idea from the various bokeh patterns and the lines in various places just how multi layered these things are.  It makes it hard to get more than a 'slice' in focus.
