Bedraggled, Bothered and Befuddled ...

This poor little poppy really is looking the worse for wear. It seeded itself in the crack between my concrete yard and the brick wall. It has striven valiantly to grow and thrive, but the elements really have really been against it.

I feel a bit like it looks ... I got soaked going in and out of Sainsbury's, and after doing a big shop to replenish stocks (I realised that I had been doing a fairly accurate Old Mother Hubbard impression) I'm feeling a bit wilted. However, I now have some yummy treats for my evening of telly-viewing. Just a shame about the football ...
