Afternoon Tea

Except it wasn’t afternoon, it was this evening.  The manager of the Shakespeare Hospice Book and Music Shop where I volunteer on Monday afternoon, Diane Walden, ex-mayor of Stratford, laid on a tea party in the garden of the Hathaway Tea Rooms to thank all the volunteers for their hard work over the last twelve months.

There was an excellent spread of sandwiches and scones and no less than thirteen different teas to sample (see extra photo).

In house news: we prepared to put together a flat packed single futon from Argos only to find a vital piece was missing.  On ringing their number I was told they didn’t hold any spare parts so would have to send a complete new one out.  On arrival the van driver is to wait until I open the box and extract the missing piece!
