Great Ayton

This morning we popped into see my Grandma. Even though she might not have been too chatty she knew we were there and we know she is being very well looked after where she is.

Afterwards we fancied a bit of a run out somewhere. Mum suggested Great Ayton, the boyhood home of James Cook. Because, of course, he 'discovered' Australia. She said maybe we could learn some facts to impress the locals when we move there :-P

Lovely wee Yorkshire village. I was going to blip the James Cook statue but actually much preferred this one. Unfortunately there were no details of the artist. I particularly like the knitted medals!
