Ice

Overnight rain, more sunshine and a nor’wester have combined to send the snow into retreat. Not much in my garden though, because it gets very little sunshine this time of year. I worked at freeing up some of the bushes that have been buried for more than a week now. I was able to get to a corner that I hadn’t had a close look at before. A lacebark tree that had a forked main stem has split, with one side on the ground and the other with a raw side. The little Pseudopanax tree has had its branches stripped. Oh, dear.

The ice on the puddles distracted me. There were such strange and wonderful shapes and textures. One puddle  was decorated with stars. See the extras.
