Taking our lives in our hands

A gorgeous day and we decided to avoid the crowds and walk where no one else would be walking, because we weren’t supposed to be there today.

Scordale, here blipped in April, is a wonderful place to walk – in the hills, by a stream, lovely paths. But it is a Ministry of Defence military training area and public access is limited to Sunday afternoons after 1pm and a few designated weekends in the year, when they say no firing will take place.

However, it’s close to where we live and the four of us were very tempted to go anyway. Then when we arrived, we found the red flag wasn’t flying, so there would be no danger after all – we hoped! We walked for a long way into the hills and met no one else. Not surprising really!

A brilliant afternoon!
