Toyota City: Rice Field

Empire Of The Sun - Country

Perhaps due to limited time, standing in front of an empty rice field in a city that no longer will be your own is either spectacularly melancholic or utterly ridiculous. In my case it sits far away from the latter but seems that way on paper. You can really think of a lot of things when in front of a rice field, getting philosophical with each second that passes by, identifying each individual grass and the group as a whole, providing one purpose together; reflecting the sky.

It's freeing thinking about it, especially when walking by yourself, away from all the troubles of responsibilities and watchful eyes. It's selfishly crushing knowing that you're not more important than others, but having moments like this alone provides some kind of carthasis and appreciation for others who have developed their own sense of self, if indeed there is a complete definition of criteria to establish one.
