Dublin port

Today's the day ........................ to be homeward bound

Our final day today, we were booked on the Dublin to Holyhead ferry leaving at 14.30 hrs.

So there was just time for a quick look round the town of Birr, County Offaly where we had spent the night - before we headed off for the Irish M6 which would take us to Dublin.  This is our last look back at the port before we sailed off across a rather grey-looking Irish Sea.

Highlight of the week for me would have to be the boat trip to the Cliffs of Moher - bobbing about right next to the spectacular sea stack with all the sea birds wheeling overhead.  But it was a week full of wonderful scenery, challenging roads, warm friendly people, good food and drink and all those funny Irish things that just make Ireland the way it is.

We've had a great time with Ron and Margaret - and learnt a bit more about some of the great true links golf courses of the world.  We'll be more than willing when the time comes - to take off with them again for new adventures .............................
