To See New Englandly

Grande Finale

I can't believe I'm still doing fall landscapes. Usually by this time of year, what leaves are left on the trees are brown, but for some reason, the oaks have managed to stage a grand finale this year, almost as spectacular as the maples' main act in mid- to late-October. The oaks' oranges and yellows have been spectacular in the past week, and I don't recall them being so bright in recent years.

We've seen small patches of ice crystals on the pond a few mornings this week. It won't be long before it's skating weather!
