A New Day

Local Gala

It was the town's annual Gala today and the forecast was for light rain, so we donned suitable clothing and walked to the field.  The sun shone down out of a cloudless sky and I was in danger of getting sunburn - for all of an hour!

Just time to enjoy the pipe band and a Flyball Dog Racing event with two teams from Dundee.  Then it was the turn of the Drum Corps, with some very cute youngsters in enormous hats with a white cockade playing their socks off. Then the rain came and it poured down with the odd hailstone making everyone run for cover.  Everyone except the Drum Corps, who played on bravely regardless.  What stars they were:-) See extra photos.

We stayed a bit longer to listen to a local country singer serenading an empty arena, then gave up and came home.  By the time the Gala had finished, the sun was out again, so hope all the participants had a chance to dry out.  Summer in Scotland!!
