New Arrivals

Fairly cool here today (unlike in the south of the country), so ideal weather for gardening.  I planted out the two plants bought yesterday at the Gala, both Osteospermums (Cape Daisies), but very different.  The purple one with spoon shaped petals is very striking and the white one has a nice blue centre.  Hope they do well.

The larger picture here shows the newly opened Kalmia latifolia (Mountain Laurel), which always reminds me of Iced Gem biscuits:-)

The third new arrival is the rose we bought on Saturday, called Ali Baba.  We had intended it to grow up the wall at the front of the house, but have discovered that's not a good place to plant it as it doesn't get enough air round it, so my husband planted it by the rose arch instead.  It really complements the one already there, so they should look good together eventually.

Started my new MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) today.  This one (my fifth) is called Literature of the English Country House and the students seem to be about 99% female:-)  A bit confusing so far, but early days!
