Only Connect

Fleeting moments shared
Synapses between ourselves
Can take many forms

It was a day of connections.
Went up to London to meet the  lovely Grace.  What a joy - we got on straight away and talked for hours until her phone alarm went to tell her it was time to get on the train home ..

We went to the cafe at the Wellcome Trust near Euston, while we were sitting there a group came in and, while they were navigating their way past us,  one of the ladies told us they were all meeting together from various parts of the world ... how wonderful ... another connection we were tangentially part of.

On another table was a very young boy whose Mum  had gone to the counter to get them some food.  We caught each others eye and shy smiles and giggles were exchanged ...another connection.

After bidding goodbye to Grace at the station I go on the tube to go to Tate Modern.  I sat next to a young curate/vicar/man of the cloth.  At one of the stops a group of Americans got on and sat opposite us.  After a short time the older man of the group came across to the curate, shook his hand and introduced himself as another  minister.  A friendly conversation then ensued.   Yes two strangers talking to each other on the Tube!!  Another connection.

Walking from Waterloo to the gallery I met a group of  ladies in blue sashes marching purposefully along the path ... clearly all connected in some way but not actually communicating it seemed. (see extras)

The connections broke down slightly when I arrived at Tate Modern to discover that the exhibition I was going to see (Barbara Hepworth) was actually at the other Tate ... further up the river... never mind I went to see Sonia Delaunay instead!

Walking back afterwards, I saw the couple pictured, connected non-verbally, although body language suggests he wants to be more connected than she does...

In extras another grou:  Enjoying the sunshine by the river, connected in that pleasure, but not connected, two men and a pigeon ....
