The Edge of the Wold

Tobermory

Our first day on Mull had been a bit of a washout, today was much better and in the late afternoon we made our first visit to Tobermory which was a few miles from where we were renting a little house on the Glengorm Estate.

This was taken from the pier with the world famous Les Routiers Fish & Chip trailer behind me, complete with ginger Tobermory cat.  The afternoon sunlight was illuminating the lollipop lime tree leaves.

The extra photo shows the brightly coloured buildings on the front, together with the ferry from Kilchoan on Ardnamurchan.  We met someone later in the week who lived in such a remote place on the mainland that rather than travel to the nearest town, she would occasionally bring her little daughter over to Tobermory for a visit to the hairdressers and a coffee in the Bakery (definitely to be recommended).

The second extra photo is of a herring gull seen from the pier, with the broken reflections of the painted buildings.

At last I have managed to back blip a photo (3 photos in fact) from the first week of our holiday which we spent on Mull.
