Roses all the way

What a lovely day today. Warm, yes, but pleasantly so with a cooling breeze and without any cloying humidity. The evening was just right too for an enjoyable walk that took in the golf course and the allotment. There were several patches of roses along Chapel Lane, growing over the hedges alongside people's gardens, so I think they must be cultivated roses rather than wild.

Earlier in the morning I'd been out for a run also via the allotment to collect some cucumber seedlings I'd left on the shed roof. Fortunately they hadn't dried out in the sunshine as the shed is mostly in shade. One of the seedlings has now taken the place of the rogue courgette that had been masquarading as a cucumber in a container. This now lives in a pot and I hope it likes its new surroundings!
