Half Baked

I had a plan.  I would survive Wednesday by closing doors and windows when it was hotter outside than inside and having the shutters down from about 10 this morning.  OK it was still 26°C inside but it was 38 or 39 outside.  I know where I was happier.

Which made it more than a little annoying when they had a fire drill and we all had to evacuate the building at 2 this afternoon.  You know, just when it was hottest.  Came back after half an hour standing outside in the heat to discover that the People In Charge had opened all the doors on our floor and the temperature in my office was just under 29 and heading up.

Thankfully I wasn't there for much longer and could head off to my German lesson - only 45 minutes in a packed bus and no air-conditioning...  I'm thinking about saying to my teacher that when it's so hot then we'll just forget about meeting.  It's no fun getting there and then walking home when it's over 30°C.

And now sitting at home waiting to cool down, I see that the temperature will drop to 22° at 6 tomorrow morning and then start to rise again.

We have our IS Conference tomorrow afternoon.  200 people in a big room with no air conditioning.  4 hours of presentations to enjoy and then three hours of socialising.  Oh Goodie.

And chill.
