They Might Be Grapes

It was 28°C in the office when i got in at 7 this morning.  At 9 I closed the windows because it was 29° outside and I didn't need any more heat.  It was not pleasant.

So I gently roasted at a constant 28°C until we went to our Conference.

The room for the speeches was quite cool when we arrived.  But 250 bodies and air-conditioning from the 1970s put paid to that quite quickly.  I was lucky as I found a few sheets of paper in my rucksack that I used as a makeshift fan.  Otherwise I would have melted.  Really.

After 75 minutes we got to go watch presentations.  It sounded like a great idea, but that many people in a huge (not air conditioned) room with floor to ceiling windows and 12 presentations going on simultaneously made it all a bit of a Kuddelmuddel-cum-Sauna.  It was a bit like one of those dreams where you're going to pass out and the noise starts to swirl.  Plus I could only catch the occasional word.

I nearly made it to the end, but decided I really couldn't hack another 75 minutes of sitting and sweating.  Still, that left me with a sticky 20 minute walk to the bus stop and a stickier 30 minutes before i got home.

Hotter again tomorrow.  Meine Gute.
