Today is a new day...

Reindeer!!

We headed a bit further north today and then turned towards Sweden going through Junkerdal National Park with some breathtaking mountain views. This road was more remote than yesterday and seemed more Arctic-like - sparse forest and frozen lakes. The roads were winding and very steep as they have been throughout most of Norway.

We were very excited to see groups of reindeer sauntering around - very different from the herds of deer at home which dart away when they see you coming!

We saw lots of young reindeer too which was lovely.

We stopped in Arvidsjaur in a campsite and walked round by the lake to a lovely restaurant where Semi-Q was horrified to see reindeer on the menu. The food was the best we've had this holiday (not reindeer!).

Just need to see some mighty moose now - there are signs all along the road for them but no sightings so far.......maybe tomorrow!

Things to remember about today:-

The best trampoline ever (according to Semi-Q, obviously)
Posting postcards at the Arctic Circle
Tasty buffet lunch
Being able to phone home from the Arctic circle on a mobile phone
