Capturing my Journey

More Clipping

This afternoon husband and I got the tups and riggs in at the farm where we manage the livestock and clipped them. They were pleased to loose their winter coats in this warmer weather. You can see Breagh in the background keeping an eye on proceedings! Husband is shearing a hebridean tup in this photo thankfully not as large as some tups. We also dropped back their pet lambs into a field that has a shelter for them. The news on this farm is that they have a corncrake. No chance of a photo it was hiding in the long grass but I could hear it. We then moved the cows back together and to another hill park. We are having a lot of problems with people leaving gates open there. We have sheep in that should be out the hill. And some cows had got through and then a gate shut behind them so they weren't all with the bull. It is incredibly frustrating.

In the morning in a thick mist we gathered in our ewes and lambs and gave the lambs the second part of their vaccination. They also got a pour on for ticks. Next time this lot will be in is for clipping hopefully soon but looking like end of next week as we have a lot of contract work on just now. Again Pip was doing a lovely job, she really likes driving the big mobs of sheep.

15c misty and damp in the morning. Brightening with little showers in the afternoon. Mist seems to be coming in again.
